Researchers at Tarleton State University are studying the effect of CBD on Horse by seeing if CBD can minimize pain and manage obsessive-compulsive behaviors. In 2018, industrial hemp was legalized and led to research on the health benefits of CBD for animals in general. However, in the current academic research reliable data is scarce. National officials have not yet finalized rules allowing the cannabinoid in animal feed — or even in food products for human consumption, but CBD supplements are a hot commodity among human and horse alike seeking to pain relief and other beneficial calming effects.
