The British Virgin Islands recently voted Yes to Medical Cannabis. The recreational Adult-use of marijuana was also on the ballot but, did not pass. The British Virgin Islands government aims to create a $30 million export driven industry for domestically cultivated cannabis. However, high fines and long sentences stay in place for cannabis-based offense contradict the recent legalization efforts.
