The Georgia General Assembly has passed a bill that will help police enforce marijuana laws without encumbering the state’s up and coming hemp farming industry. However, prosecutors and police say it won’t change how the force handles alleged marijuana cases. The possession of small amounts of marijuana will remain decriminalized in many jurisdictions and low priority in others. Furthermore, the misdemeanor cases are more likely to result in the dismissals than prosecutions.
