According to the Ontario government, the province is going to lengthen an emergency order allowing licensed cannabis stores to offer curbside pickup and delivery. This announcement will give marijuana retailers an extra week during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Before the emergency order was scheduled to end on July 22. However, many Ontario cannabis store operators expressed disappointment that the government would allow the order to expire. By limiting the emergency order and therefore stopping stores from opening; the government-operated Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) online retailer would become the province’s only legal recreational marijuana source. Through the emergency order, both in-person and online store can keep their operation afloat during the pandemic.
