According to reports from Cannabis Wire, many cannabis giants are lobbying in Texas, including Canopy Growth Corporation, a large Canadian cannabis company that entered the U.S. market last year. In 2019, two laws were passed in Texas, that expanded the list of qualifying conditions and legalized hemp and hemp products, including CBD; drastically changing the Texas cannabis landscape. Large cannabis companies are now looking toward the Texas market as ripe for investment. Canopy Growth, Columbia Care, MedMen, and Suterra are all big players in the cannabis space that have started lobbying Texas.
