According to a recent study published in the journal Advances in Therapy, more and more patients are using cannabis for pain management as an alternative to opioids. Data from 2011 to 2015 showed positive cannabis-use trends among pain patients. Also, according to survey data recently published in the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, nearly three out of every four health care professionals support the use of medical cannabis instead of opioids. These studies are significant because both the healthcare worker and patients are seeing the benefits of using medical marijuana reduce instead of dangerous opioids.
