In 2019, Mark Spear, Canadian cannabis grower had a plan for collective outdoor farming that has ended in a sudden turn of events. Spear founded the WildFire Collective where he wanted to form an outdoor cannabis collective with some like-minded farmers that would raise capital through equity crowdfunding and start growing high-quality outdoor flowers in the Ottawa Valley region. Spear told Marijuana Business Daily he still credits the company’s downfall to three factors; tough negotiations with a landlord, clashes with municipal government, and the challenge of raising capital considering the current market landscape.
