In Uruguay, President Lacalle Pou signed two decrees with the aim of stimulating the development of the medical marijuana and hemp industries and encouraging exports. The first decree will allow businesses to export psychoactive cannabis flowers and the second decree simplifies the export process by allowing exports to occur without registering the products as medicines under the Uruguayan Ministry of Health. Industry insiders in Uruguay predict the new rules will attract fresh investment at a time when funding is less available.
