On Tuesday, New Mexico’s online medical marijuana reciprocity portal went live and services both out of state patients and those vacationing in New Mexico. The online portal is the first of its kind for US Medical Cannabis programs and allows state regulators to electronically register and track out of state patients into the patient registry. State proponents of the registry say the system decreases time and costs associated with paper only patient registries. By setting up online tracking the portal allows the state to track and enforce dispensing limits in real-time to prevent potential diversion to the black market. Helix noted the new platform, which the company worked with the state government to set up, benefits all stakeholders in the New Mexico industry.
