Canadian cannabis producer Hexo and brewer Molson Coors Canada launched new beverage products. Under the joint venture, Truss Beverage Co., the companies plan to enter the competitive Canadian marijuana beverage market. On Tuesday, they unveiled the lineup of five drink brands which included both CBD and THC products. The “XMG” beverage brand contains 10 mg THC, the maximum allowed under Canadian cannabis regulations. Like competitor Canopy Growth, which is backed by beverage giant Constellation Growth, Truss’ drinks strategy appears to involve attracting new or infrequent cannabis consumers with products that don’t rely on combustion. A Truss press release cited market research that suggests consumers are looking for non-smokable cannabis options.
