Newmarket opportunities are being provided by the rapidly expanding Arkansas medical marijuana program: processor and transporter licenses. Scott Hardin, the spokesman for the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission, wrote in an email that there was no limit on the number of such licenses in the state’s MMJ constitutional amendment, so the commission would consider applicants if they came in. Hardin mentioned processors will be allowed to manufacture a range of items ranging from edibles to vape products as permitted under recently finalized program regulations. Meanwhile, transporters may distribute products among cultivators, dispensaries, processors, and testing laboratories but they will not be able to deliver them directly to patients. The new license processing fee is $5,000 with a $100,000 bond required for licensing.
