Cannabis cultivation company, Surna Inc., announced its largest contract yet, valued at 3.2 million dollars. The company is contracted to provide equipment to a 53,000 square feet Arizona-based facility. Headquartered in Boulder, CO, Surna “designs, engineers and sells cultivation technologies for controlled environment agriculture.” Their products include liquid-based process cooling systems, full-service engineering for commercial-scale thermodynamic systems, and automation devices and technologies used for lighting and climate control. The Arizona facility will be receiving custom air handlers, heat recovery chillers, and a StrataAir vertical racking airflow system. These systems will aid in cultivation, processing, and drying. Surna will also provide its SentryIQ environmental controls and system start-up. These services are offered in both the United States and Canada. CEO Tony McDonald commented, “For the second time in six months Surna is announcing its largest-ever single contract with this latest contract being nearly 15% larger than the previous record. Over the last several years Surna has invested heavily in technology R&D as well as in our engineering capabilities. The result has been an expanding portfolio of product and system offerings and enhanced engineering sophistication.”
