In a landmark decision on Tuesday, the Canadian Minister of Health announced four cancer patients in end-of-life care will become the first people in decades to legally possess and consume psilocybin mushroom. According to the nonprofit Therapsil, the approval marks the first individuals to receive a legal exemption from the Canadian Drugs and Substances Act and access psychedelic therapy. All of the four patients who received the legal exemptions have been diagnosed with untreatable cancer and will be treated with therapy which focuses on using psychedelics on patients to help with issues such as depression and anxiety.
