The medicinal-cannabis company based at the former Tamba Park site has received a £14 million cash injection thanks to massive investor interest ahead of its listing on the London Stock Exchange. Northern Leaf announced earlier this year that it was among a number of Jersey-based companies which had received a license to grow and cultivate the crop on the Island. It has a 75,000sq-ft facility at Retreat Farm in St Mary built to do so, with a further 600,000sq-ft of land available for expansion. It is believed that medicinal cannabis could be a highly lucrative sector for the Island, with Economic Development Minister Lyndon Farnham recently claiming it could become a ‘mainstay’ of the economy.
